Crooked River Gorge

Location: Oregon

This concrete arch bridge over the Crooked River Gorge in Oregon is 535 feet long, 79 feet wide and rises 295 feet above the river at the bottom of the gorge. The new bridge, winner of several awards, consists of a segmental concrete arch, built with form travelers and supported with high strength cables from temporary towers during construction. The finished concrete arch supports a series of columns and a box bridge on top. One of our staff members designed the temporary works, towers, arch tie-back systems and form travelers for the 410 feet concrete arch. He performed layout, engineering and detailing for all equipment and produced the equipment contract plans.

North Halawa Valley Viaduct, H-3

Location: Aiea, Hawaii

Largest Cast in Place Segmental Cantilever Project in the United States to date. Project consists of two parallel viaducts with 3 frames each.

One of our staff members prepared preliminary design of three steel gantry frames for pricing purposes, took off post-tensioning quantities, supervised preparation of bid drawings and calculations. After award, our staff member was responsible of the overall design, the structural engineering, construction, erection coordination and commissioning of the gantries.

Astronauts Memorial

Location: Kennedy Space Center, Florida

This national monument consists of a 45 ft by 50 ft granite surface that track the sun on the vertical and horizontal planes was designed by the San Francisco firm of HHPJ, Inc. The light of the sun is focused through a set of mirrors to shine on the names of the astronauts deceased during their participation on the U.S. space program.

Two of our staff members worked on different assignments in this project, including preliminary design for pricing purposes, during final design they provided project management, engineering services, construction coordination and support. One of our staff members assisted owner’s representatives during construction phase and supported them after warranty period was over.
